The Vision
Not every clinic gets to start with its own building. Mind Body Institute did — a standalone property in Bowral, in the heart of the Southern Highlands, chosen precisely because it offered something a retail tenancy never could: full control over the building itself, inside and out. Dr. Nicole Chatter’s brief to Newarc Edge wasn’t to fit a clinic into an existing shell. It was to reimagine the entire property, grounds included, as a single considered aesthetic experience — from the driveway to the laser room.

 

The Transformation
The project began with demolition — stripping the existing structure back to its brick shell to make way for a completely new build inside. From there, the scope extended well beyond the four walls:
Inside: Three consultation rooms and a dedicated laser room, each finished to a standard that reflects the premium, patient-centric nature of aesthetic and cosmetic medicine — spaces designed to feel considered and calm, not clinical.
Outside: A new landscape design, a new driveway, and new on-site car parking — reworking the entire property’s arrival experience, so a patient’s first impression of Mind Body Institute begins well before they reach the front door.
Structure: A full internal rebuild behind the original brick shell, giving Dr. Chatter’s team a genuinely blank canvas for clinical workflow, room adjacencies, and finish selection, unconstrained by a previous tenant’s layout.

The Standard
Aesthetic and cosmetic medicine lives or dies on first impressions — patients arriving for skin, laser, and cosmetic treatments are evaluating the experience as much as the clinical outcome. Every decision on this project, from the driveway surface to the laser room finishes, was made with that standard in mind. Over 80% of the materials used throughout were Australian-made, chosen for quality and sustainability without compromising the premium finish the brief demanded.
